Boy pleads for adoptive family

A 15-year-old boy wearing a suit and tie asked a Florida congregation for support in getting him adopted by a family in early October. Ever since that time the church has been flooded with phone calls from people in North Carolina and elsewhere regarding the child's case. The boy has had a difficult life. He was born when his mother was in jail and he has never had a permanent home. He is currently living in a group home with about 12 other teenagers and recently discovered that his mother is now deceased.

Kardashian-Jenner separation announced

Fans of reality TV in North Carolina may have recently heard about the announced separation of well-known reality stars Bruce and Kris Jenner after 22 years of marriage. An ensuing divorce between the 63-year-old former track star and the 57-year-old matriarch of "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" may involve combined property in excess of $125 million. It has been reported that the couple never signed a prenuptial agreement before their 1991 wedding.

Long separations before a divorce

North Carolina residents whose marriages are breaking up may want to consider the implications that an extended separation before divorce can pose for spouses. Putting off the divorce and living in the limbo of separation may result in lower marital assets or spousal support, but this can usually be avoided with a legally binding agreement.
